The Club needs to get the costumes back from Rotarians who have participated in Oktoberfest.  Please return them to Jim Miller.  PLEASE.  We are missing clothes!  If Jim not home leave with Keenan next door.
Mike Chilcoat:  November 2, 2017.  Interact has come up with fundraiser idea which needs the Rotary Clubs support.   “Interact Flavors” of Big Bear.  Sever (6-7) restaurants will provide food for you.  The event will be held at the Elks Lodge.  The times are 5-8 pm and the cost is $25.00 each.  All funds will go to the devastated areas.  The funds will be sent directly to the Rotary Club in the area chosen.

Club and Foundation joint meeting:  The executive boards of each organization met at Keenan’s House to discuss the mission statements and the reasons for having two organizations.  Sandy Senft was also present for her knowledge on the subject of Taxes and Organizations.  Several options were discussed.  For the remaining of this Rotary Year if you wish your donation to be tax deductible you should make it out to the Big Bear Lake Rotary Club Foundation.  IF, you are making a check out to Rotary International Foundation make it to: “The Rotary Foundation”.  See the difference?  Hopefully by the next Rotary Year we will have a new organization put in place.  A committee of seven has been put together to work out the best situation for our two organizations.  Further information will be sent to all members as discussions proceed.

Senior Luncheon:  Please make out your Table Sponsor Checks to the Big Bear Lake Rotary Club Foundation.  We need you support as this is a gift to the Seniors of Big Bear Valley and we need the Table Sponsorships to support this project.

Santa Stocking stuffing is on December 7th in the evening at the MDW.  Please do not show up before 5:30 pm.  Thank you.

Santa Visits: will be going out on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of December.  Every Rotarian, who is able, should sign up to driver, an Elf or a Santa.  Meet at the MDW about 5:00 pm.  There will be food!  There will be food boxes for those who don’t have much food for the Holiday.  This will not solve their problems but will get them through the Holidays.  There will also be some Bicycles available. Yes these Santa days are earlier than usual, but Christmas falls on a Monday this year and many people will be leaving before the weekend.  The king has determined that this days are the best.

Baseball: The playoffs were hopefully being won (and were) by the Dodgers and the Rotary meeting was adjourned to the Television Set in the next room!
