*Meeting called to order by President Page
*Program:  Dick Shaw introduced our past exchange student Emmanuel "Emmy" Sunday from
  Nigeria. Emmy expressed appreciation to our club supporting the Yucaipa Club as both clubs
  have helped Emmy financially due to challenges with his working visa and the current labor
  market.  Emmy is fluent in seven (now five) languages graduating from Crafton Hills College
  with a major in business.He is in his junior year @ CSUSB majoring in Business/Finance. 
  GREAT job Emmy--another wonderful example of why our club is so actively involved in the
  Rotary Student Exchange Program.  Several members shared wonderful memories of Emmy's
  stay in Big Bear.  Thank you Dick Shaw.
 
  Charity navigation.  Dick also shared that agency reviews over 8,000 non-profits.  Using fixed
  criteria, they annually present the top-10 non-profits. This year Rotary was selected as the #1
  Non-Profit in the U S of A!!
 
  Scannex has suspended the 20-21 Youth Exchange Program due to the CO-VID-19 crisis.
 
  Keenan shared a note from Memory, employee at the Lodge, thanking our club for our
  $400 donation during a challenging time for her and her family.
 
  BVUSD  sent a note of appreciation for our $7,500 donation for the arts and music
  programs.  Thank you Tony Tamberchi for your efforts in these programs.  A kudo to 
  Mike Chilcoat for his work on this!
 
  Andy Brakebill shared the ongoing great work of the Interact Club during this time:  
  Joyful Noise Parade, grocery deliveries and bucket caps!! Kudos Andy
 
  Dawn Hartmeister shared that the Scholarship Committee will meet on the 27th to
  review 14 applications.  Winners to be announced shortly.
 
Thursday, May 28, 2020--ZOOM #4
*Meeting called to order by President Page; 20 Rotarians participated in the meeting
  ..great job all!   
*Special guest, Sylvia Olivo, zoomed with us to receive her scholarship.  She will be
  a sophomore @ Cal Baptist University (Riverside) majoring in business.Congrats!!
*Cliff Fowler gave an update on the Fireworks Show--still on hold but looking
  positive for July 4.  Thank you Cliff and Michael!
* Each Rotarian was asked to give an update on their "stay @ home activities". 
   Some stories could not be repeated but everyone has a good sense of humor that is
   keeping us going....
*the Lodge may be opening within the next two weeks...we will keep everyone posted.
